BRASÍLIA, DF (FOLHAPRESS) - The president of the PT, Gleisi Hoffmann, said on Saturday night (21), on social networks, that the now former commander of the Army Júlio Cesar de Arruda adopted a posture of "inadmissible insubordination" before the attacks on democracy.

"President Lula acted once again with firmness to guarantee the Federal Constitution and the prerogatives of commander of the Armed Forces. The behavior of the former commander of the Army characterized inadmissible insubordination in the face of threats to democracy and of partisanship of the Force", said Gleisi on the internet .

The change in the Army, the main one of the three Armed Forces, took place in the midst of an open crisis of confidence after the January 8 attacks in Brasília.

According to the president's assistants, the decision was taken because Arruda showed no willingness to take immediate measures to reduce Lula's distrust of Army soldiers after the invasion of the Planalto Palace and the headquarters of the STF (Federal Supreme Court) and Congress.
